Mysuru: On Monday, the villagers of Solapur in H.D. Kote taluk in Karnataka, were at a bizarre, as a goat in their area gave birth to two stillborn kids with a striking resemblance to a human face.

“Nature, a marvelous engineering of God, has its own ways”, says an excited villager. “Yes, at first glance you might think that they are human babies.” he continued.

The first human-like baby was born at around 6:30 am on Monday, while the goat gave birth to other one at 11:30 am, which was a female with human features, Deccan Chronical reported.

The villagers say that nearly 70 per cent of the features are human-like. The eyes, nose and mouth resemble that of a human baby. Even the limbs are like that of a human. Only ears and foot were those of a goat.

The goat’s owner Bhaskar, in utter amazement, told the newspaper that he has been rearing the goat for four years and she has delivered around 10 babies till now, all of them born normal.

The incident became talk of the town instantly.

His house has been drawing hundreds of visitors ever since. Fearing that the birth of such goats would bring a bad omen, some of his neighbors asked Bhaskar to dispose off the obnoxious born.

Following the spread of the bizzare news, the officials from animal husbandary department visited the place and observed the still-born baby goats.

Deputy Director of animal husbandry Dr Devadas says that, this is a medical condition called fetal anasarta, means the baby body filled with excessive fluids. This happens due to a genetic disorder or infection. The two still-born baby goats will be preserved and exhibited at the Mysore Dasara Exhibition, he added.
