Crime prevention patrol in Tirupur Reporter : AbrahamTo curb the increasing crimes in the textile town of Tirupur, 100 personnel have been selected as ?Community Security Guards.? They were given uniform and training for patrolling duties. The town police will be equipped with another 300 to 400 guards to supplement them in the coming days. This is implemented by P. Muthuraj, DSP, Tirupur and supervised by G. Kartikeyan, SP, Coimbatore.
The whole operation will be reviewed by Seema Agarwal, DIG of police, Coimbatore range and Sanjay Arora, IG of police, West Zone.
So far, the police have secured 181 accusers in Tirupur town. There are 548 people taken into custody and put in surveillance after taking the fingerprints.
To add to this, 10 special teams are formed to solve the pending cases and 60 personnel were deployed to diffuse the traffic flow in the town
